ABV-14%

If you're looking for an Aussie red that does what Aussie reds do best, then this is the wine for you. Seductive, lush, juicy; there are lots of powerful flavours here, but also enough elegance and class to make it superbly gluggable.

About this wine

This is classic Australian Shiraz with it's glad rags on. Blending with Grenache adds freshness and grace, and the Touriga Nacional, which is most often used in Portuguese reds and Port production, brings a silky, juicy depth. Steve Pannell loves food and wine pairing, so it makes sense that this reads like a Michelin starred recipe, but for wine rather than food!

Gosh, it's good. Imagine being on the beach under the stars, sat next to a roaring fire. You have a blanket wrapped around you and good friends are chatting away. The only thing that can make that scene better is a (large) glass of this wine. It's loaded with dark cherry and juicy, ripe red fruit flavours, which  combine with a silky smoothness to make this a very slippery sipper indeed.

Produced in McLaren Vale, Australia

Steve Pannell is considered a bit of a rockstar in the winemaking world (he actually pairs this wine with a Beastie Boys song on his website). As well as having travelled around the globe making wine, he's also had plenty of experience in his native Australia at well know producers such as Hardy's and Wirra Wirra. These days, he grows a plethora of grape varieties and certainly isn't scared to innovate and push the boundaries of traditional winemaking.

McLaren Vale has produced wine since 1838. With more than 180 years of experience, the region's reputation is strongly established in South Australia's and Australia's winemaking origins. The area is known for innovative viticultural and winemaking techniques and an international reputation for producing the 'trilogy' of Australian reds: Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache.
