About this wine
Saint-Émilion is a magical place, but Château Corbin is on another level. Passed down generation by generation since 1927 to the female heirs, Château Corbin is owned and run by Anabelle Cruse, who strives to create wines that show soul, excellence and identity.
The second wine of the GCC (Grand Cru Classé) Château Corbin, XX de Corbin is made with the same meticulous care and attention as the first wine. The wine undergoes a slightly shorter time in oak barrel to allow focus on the purity and freshness of the fruit. As this is nearing 7 years old it's showing more developed notes like leather and tobacco - which is classic Bordeaux and is totally a thing. With winter around the corner, there's nothing better to be getting a few bottles of than a cracking Saint-Émilion for those warm, hearty meals ahead.

Produced in Saint-Émilion, France
Just outside of the little and picturesque village of Saint-Émilion lies Château Corbin. Under the tutelage of Anabelle Cruse and her husband, Sébastien Bardinet, this Grand Cru Classé estate produces some very fine wines from Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Wines aside, the estate at Corbin is heavenly. The Neo-Classical Château itself dates back to the 18th century, with remnants of the 16th century - a tower containing a spiral stair case - adding references to the very rich and colourful history of the property. The last time we were in Bordeaux, we went out to visit Anabelle for a tasting and were able to walk around the grounds. It's a magical place and you can tell by what's in the glass just how special it is.
