About this wine

The label on our Vudu wines normally divides opinion, but we like to follow the old adage of not judging a book by its cover, and let the wine do the talking.

Tangy, fruity, and oh-so-moreish, this Portuguese treat is a great partner to a light lunch. It's ideal to have a glass in the sun, but can certainly be enjoyed come rain or shine.

What Makes It So Grape?

100%
Alvarinho

Produced in Tejo, Portugal

The estate Quinta da Lagoalva is part of a region of unique natural beauty surrounding the south bank of the river Tagus. In 1846, the Quinta was inherited by the second Duke of Pamela, a Portuguese nobleman, and since then, it has remained in the possession of the descendants of the Duke. The family’s commitment to wine dates back to 1888, and today the 45 hectares of vineyards are planted with the best Portuguese and international varietals, expressive of it's unique terroir.

Viticulture has deep roots in Tejo and it is heralded as one of the oldest wine producing regions in Portugal. Vineyards have graced the banks of the Tejo River (Tagus in English) since Roman times, and the influence of past grape-growing cultures is evident in the many architectural relics dotting the landscape.
