About this wine

There are so many interesting indigenous grape varieties being grown in Spain right now that represent excellent value for money, and Verdejo is no exception. Although we might not see it all that often in the UK, Verdejo is Spain's most popular grape variety.

Your first sip of this wine tastes like a welcome sea breeze on a warm summer's day. Its flavours are so clean and bright, and there's a lovely hint of something a little more herbal to give it an extra dimension on top of the crisp citrus zing.

What Makes It So Grape?

100%
Verdejo

Produced in Rueda, Spain

Bodega Reina de Castilla is a cooperative of winemakers located in La Seca, Valladolid, producing high quality wines in the Rueda DO. Although the cooperative itself is fairly new, the winegrowers within have been specialists for decades in the cultivation of Verdejo, a native varietal of the DO Rueda.

Winemaking in Rueda has been documented as early as the 10th century and it was the first D.O. (Designation of Origin) to be approved in Castilla y León, in 1980. Today, this appellation creates dynamic white wines from the ancient grape variety Verdejo.
