Lothian of Elgin Chardonnay, South Africa 2019, Elgin
Introducing the James Bond of South African Chardonnay. The only difference is that this hasn't been shaken or stirred.
Why we're obsessed with this wine
- A seriously grown up Chardonnay that's rich and powerful with loads of body
- Made by the insanely talented Master of Wine, Richard Kershaw
- Ripe tropical fruits with touches of creamy vanilla on the nose
- This tastes as premium as premium new world wine gets
About this wine
We've been long time fans of premium South African Chardonnay, but when this new little addition came knocking it totally changed our level of appreciation.
An absolute belter of a Chardonnay made by the very skilled team at Lothian of Elgin, Richard Kershaw MW & Dudley Wilson, this is delicious and generous. We think you'd be hard pressed to find a better South African Chardonnay for the money, and we're willing to put money on it. The fruit is ripe and fresh but is balanced beautifully against some subtle creamy oak flavours. It's crisp but moreish and you'll be reaching for your second glass in no time.
